God is more committed to our identity and our relationship with Jesus than He is to our circumstances.  We have a promise that all things work for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purposes. (Romans 8:28)

Whenever things happen to us in life, the best approach is to establish ourselves in His love rather than asking Him to come into our circumstances.

Often times, we pray too quickly because we have been taught to pray as soon as something happens. However, this can cause us to pray out of our fear, anxiety, or worry, which we don’t want to do because He has an elevated approach for us.

The key here is learning to rejoice in who He is and who we are becoming in Him. This puts us in a place before God where trust and faith are easy.

It establishes us in the space between Jesus, who is making intercession for us, and the Holy Spirit, who is groaning for us.  This is where we can join and pray with God rather than towards Him.

He wants us to be made in His image so all our circumstances have to take second place to our identity. Every circumstance is really about getting an upgrade in who we are and learning to face them from our identity.

If you are interested in learning more about this approach, watch this short clip above, and then let me know where your identity is being upgraded.
