God is unchanging. The Bible says He is the same yesterday, today and forever. His story is about demonstrating His character and nature towards you. And it is relentless.
In the clip below, I share a story about a time when I was intentionally living in disobedience. I knew what the Father wanted, but I was choosing to ignore the process. And I was missing a lot of opportunities to be made in His image.
And you know what? The Lord didn’t come down and demand repentance and obedience. He told me He was going to show me His kindness. Day in and day out, He was relentlessly kind to me. It was incredibly annoying! I was choosing to ignore the process, but He didn’t change. Everyday, His kindness shown to me. Until it got to a point I couldn’t handle it anymore.
I thought I deserved to be punished for my choices, but He had already punished Jesus on the cross, why would He punish me? And then I got it.
And this has been a foundational key in my life since, whatever God is, He is relentlessly. He is always showing us His true nature and character. The Lord is always going to be Himself, regardless of who you choose to be.
I love that about Him. I hope you enjoy today’s clip.

What are some of the keys to receiving God’s story and journey towards us that’s going to be really important in understanding how best to travel with Him?
Key number one for me is:
Whatever God is, He is relentlessly.
I remember when I was first learning this truth many years ago, it was during a time of what for me was intentional disobedience, where I knew that what God wanted, but was choosing to ignore the process.
You ever done that? You probably haven’t. But anyway, I did. Or maybe it’s only that we can be sometimes dumber than water.
In this story, in this time, I was missing lots of opportunities to be made in His image. So I was getting mad when I should have been gracious. I was being unkind when I could have been gentle. I was being impatient when I could have learned patience.
I remember, throughout this time, God was continuously showing me His kindness. To the point where I got really annoyed with Him. I’m still not sure why. It’s like I was expecting, you know, God to punish me.
And He never had that thought in His head, because He’d already punished Jesus. So why would He punish me?
So He was being constantly came to me, to the point where I said, I blew up and I said, “Why are you doing this? Why are you being kind, you know, that I’m not, you know, doing what I should be doing? Why are you blessing me?” And all I heard, when I got quiet, and my spirit was “Graham, this is why I’m like, you just gonna have to live with it.”
And that was shocking to me.
This is what I am like. That His answer to me was really to say,
“This is My story with you. I’m showing you what I’m like. And this is the only way you can journey with Me by becoming what I’m like. This is why I’m like Graham, live with it.”
But you know, I couldn’t. And I remember it broke my heart and I cried for several days. But it was a turning point in my life, when I realized that His story with me is about demonstrating His nature and His character towards me, so that I could learn firsthand who I was going to become in Him.
Romans 2:4 says that, “it’s the goodness and the kindness of the Lord that leads us to repentance.” That causes us to turn and go in a different way towards Him. And like the father of the prodigal son, He’s always moving towards us.
And God’s kindness was so unrelenting during that time in my life, that I couldn’t take it anymore, and I had to respond to it. Which was exactly His plan.
Isaiah 40:28, says that, “have you not known? Have you not heard, the everlasting God the Lord, the creator of the ends of the earth, neither faint nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.”
Micah 3:6, says, “I am the Lord, I don’t change.”
So if you’re going to understand God’s story and journey towards you, you’ll need to settle it in your heart, that He’s not going to change. He’s going to be Himself, regardless of who you choose to be in that moment. Now, if you’ve listened to me before, you’ve probably heard me say this a few times.
There is nothing you can do that will make God love you more. And there is nothing you can do that will make Him love you less.
He loves you, because He loves you, because He loves you, because He loves you, because He loves you.
