It is really important for us to come into a place of being settled about who we are in Christ and who we are not. We need to know what He is doing with us and what He is resolutely not doing.
Without having clarity about this important truth, we will fall into double-mindedness about our identity and keep us from living out the fullness of our future in God.
In this way, two minds are not always better than one. 🙂
I love the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:17:
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
The old man of sin and it’s behavior, thinking, perception and language, are being done away with. They are NO LONGER who we are, and we need to let all that go!
Instead, we must shift our focus to growing in a perception, thinking, and language that is coming from Christ within us.
We are learning what we need to be saying “yes” to while simultaneously saying “no” to everything of the old. Everything has become new in Jesus, and we must learn what this looks like for the way we think, see, speak, and walk!
Beloved, I want you to know that you are being trained exclusively to live in the new man. Our journey with God is all about learning to walk in the NEW way. This means we are breaking a spiritual tradition to focusing on the old.
Don’t be of two minds, the old & new. Be of one.
If interested, in learning how to make this shift out of the old and into the new, watch the short clip above!
